I don’t care for wood or bamboo in high humidity, mold and insect environments. There is to much of a chance of warping for my taste.
Ceramic tile maybe a slipping hazard for older homeowners. It depends on the tile style. What ever we choose, it will be better than the usual white tiles of South Florida. There are what seems to be an unlimited number of choices. Tile sub-floors needs to be very clean for the installation.
Maybe stone, it looks fantastic. It does have a higher cost for material and installation though.
With a concrete sub-floor it is important to level the surface. Gypcrete is a liquid floor leveler that is self leveling and readies the sub-floor for finishes.
Tile flooring can be as different as any home owner would want. Do we go with a Mediterranean or Mexican style? A cool modern look? Wood patterned tile? Finished polished concrete?
I hope to have tile baseboards for the flooring. It will be easier to clean and will not introduce wood to the house finishes.
