Our Lot

There were four lots available at the time of “get it now or else!” I chose the corner lot. It was a little farther from the state park beach but close to a large lagoon (connected to the Atlantic) and is more amenable to stealing views from at least 2 directions. If we built up as high as possible, we could see over the existing houses of the neighbors as well.

As you can see from the picture at right, that is what our lot looked like when we bought it, and what it looks like now. The lot next door was purchased and the new owner cut down all of the trees. The house you see in the distance is two lots down; our neighbors have not started to build their house yet! Wait until they see our 2 story house! They will wish they had saved some of the trees as we suggested. It should be interesting; we will see who plants the biggest trees. I hope this is not the start of another neighborhood feud. We are leaving one challenging neighbor and not planning to start another one right off.

We rented a “cherry picker” to go up and see approximately what we would see from the first livable floor level and the second livable floor level. The views were not as inspiring as we had hoped, but we can see some of the lagoon and tree tops rather than our neighbor’s windows.

Click on the images and the 60 second long show will begin.
